LoopOS will represent Portugal at the Startup World Cup Global Finale in Silicon Valley, a global stage where the world’s most innovative startups meet to shape the future of technology and sustainability. After winning the first-ever Startup World Cup Portugal 2025, we’ll now compete against 70 international startups for a $1 million investment prize - taking circular tech made in Portugal to the heart of global innovation.
A Moment that Redefines What’s Possible for Circular Tech
Standing on the stage at Unicorn Factory Lisboa during the national finals was an unforgettable moment. Fifty incredible startups from across the country pitched to an international jury, each driven by bold ideas and a vision to create impact.
"When our name was called as the national winner, it felt like more than recognition, it was a reminder that the work we do matters. That every decision, every line of code, every conversation with our partners is part of a much bigger purpose.
We’ve been paving our way into the market over the last year and a half, mostly with large retailers and producers in Portugal and across Europe. Now we’re heading to the United States, to the global final, to do our best and take this innovative solution made in Portugal abroad - and make the world a bit more circular.” - Ricardo Morgado, Co-founder of LoopOS
What the Startup World Cup Represents for Global Innovation
The Startup World Cup, organized by Pegasus Tech Ventures, is one of the largest and most prestigious startup competitions in the world with regional events across 70 countries and six continents.
Each year, thousands of startups compete to reach the Grand Finale in San Francisco, where the best innovations in tech, sustainability, and entrepreneurship come together for two days of pitches, networking and global collaboration.
2025 marked the first-ever edition of the Startup World Cup in Portugal, and we couldn’t be prouder to have been part of this historic moment. As Rui Sales Rodrigues, Executive Director of SWC Portugal, said: “LoopOS captivated the jury with vision, boldness, and flawless execution. This victory is more than a milestone; it’s a celebration of Portuguese innovation and entrepreneurship.”
Our Journey to the Global Finale
For us, this journey started with a simple yet powerful purpose: eliminate the barriers that prevent businesses from embracing the circular economy.
We built LoopOS as a modular ERP platform designed to make circular operations simple, measurable and scalable. From buyback programs and repair flows to resale, recycling and impact tracking, our platform helps brands and manufacturers manage every stage of a product’s circular lifecycle connecting systems, partners and data.
Over the past year, we’ve worked alongside companies like Fnac, Decathlon, Fidelidade and MediaMarkt, proving that circularity isn’t just good for the planet but for businesses too.
We’ve processed hundreds of thousands of circular transactions and helped companies reuse, recover and resell products that might otherwise have gone to waste. Each of these actions, every repaired item, every reused component, every saved kilogram of CO₂, is a step toward making sustainability practical.
Winning the Startup World Cup Portugal validated that mission. It showed that technology built with purpose can go beyond national borders, and that impact-driven innovation from Portugal can stand shoulder to shoulder with the best startups in the world.

Why Circular Tech Belongs on the Global Stage
Circularity is not just a European conversation anymore, it’s a global necessity. Around the world, businesses are realizing that sustainability and profitability can (and must) coexist. Yet, without the right tools, circularity often stays stuck in theory rather than becoming actionable practice.
That’s where we believe circular tech and LoopOS can make a difference. Technology is the missing link that allows companies to operationalize sustainability, measure their impact, and scale circular models across regions and industries.
The truth is that transitioning to a circular economy could unlock $4.5 trillion in economic benefits by 2030. which is a big opportunity for businesses but also a responsibility for innovators like us to make these models accessible and easy to adopt.
So when we step onto the stage in San Francisco, we're not just pretending a product. We'll be sharing the vision that every business - regardless of size, sector, or geography - can create value from what already exists contributing to the circular economy.
